Landscape Architect — Site & landscape planning

About Gino J. Aiello

Gino J. Aiello has 28+ years in the Ottawa and Ontario market. He is a Landscape Architect and full member of OALA, APALA, AAPQ, and CSLA (CLARB certified—CLARB enables cross-border practice in the US when projects require it). Operating as a sole proprietorship from 1997 to 2020, the practice transitioned to GJA Inc. and continues to specialize in site and landscape planning that enhances outdoor space while streamlining maintenance, with design intent and lifecycle costs built in from the start.

Gino evaluates every property based on a blend of design intent, capital and lifecycle costs, owners’ and users’ needs, and rational maintenance practices. Maintenance is considered with the site and landscape plan from the start—to protect design intent and control costs over the life of the project.

“Over 25 years a typical campus will spend 5× its capital investment in site maintenance.”

Based in the Ottawa area, GJA Inc. serves clients across commercial, institutional, educational, multi-unit residential, and mixed-use sectors—with working drawings and intensive construction field review from concept through completion.

How I work

“I don’t treat sites as one-off builds. Every plan has to work for the client, look good, and hold up over time—so design intent and lifecycle costs are part of the same conversation from day one.”
